The final platforms at Howald-Gare station enter service this Thursday. A key step in integrating the tram into the Howald multimodal interchange hub.

This Thursday marks the opening of the final platforms at Howald-Gare tram station. They replace the temporary facilities, located some fifty metres away, which were in use from its arrival on 7 July 2024 until 14 January this year.

The station is now fully integrated into the heart of the Howald interchange, offering a direct and clearer connection between the tram, bus lines and train.

Another operational change: the tram now runs on both tracks of the platform between “Scillas” and “Howald-Gare” stations. This definitive configuration is designed to smooth operations and improve service reliability on this strategic section of the network. Until now, the tram has only run on one track due to work on the Howald multimodal hub, as the second track could not be completed earlier due to right-of-way constraints linked to the site above the railway tracks.
