Like every December, CFL is introducing its new timetables on 14 December 2025 with a series of changes affecting several routes across the country. The operator is announcing changes to frequencies, more weekend services and a direct link between Luxembourg and Libramont. Customers are invited to check the timetables via the website, the CFL mobile app or mobiliteit.lu to find out the exact impact on each journey.
Noertzange-Rumelange: an increased frequency
The service between Noertzange and Rumelange is changing, with two trains per hour between 6am and 8am and again between 4pm and 7pm. Outside these periods, one train per hour will run to ensure a regular service. CFL has indicated that the connections at Noertzange station are changing to facilitate journeys to Luxembourg, in coordination with the new bus service announced for the south of the country. The operator stresses the importance of the Käldall in its network and confirms that this line is gaining in attractiveness thanks to increased frequency.
North line: more trains at weekends and public holidays
CFL is extending its services on the Luxembourg-Ettelbruck-Troisvierges-Gouvy line at weekends and public holidays. Four trains per hour will connect Luxembourg to Ettelbruck and two trains per hour will serve Troisvierges, a frequency hitherto limited to the period from April to September. The company explains that it wants to meet growing demand, particularly from leisure and cycling customers, stating that Saturday traffic "more than doubled" between 2019 and 2024.
Luxembourg-Libramont: a direct route for cross-border commuters
From 14 December, a direct link will run between Luxembourg and Libramont to simplify travel for cross-border commuters from Belgium. Several regional trains are extending their journey beyond Arlon, with a total of 13 stops, including Bertrange-Strassen, Mamer, Habay and Neufchâteau. This extension means that customers who "previously had to change trains at Arlon" will not have to change at Arlon station. CFL are once again referring customers to their digital platforms for all the practical details.
