Jana Degrott is a passionate advocate for diversity in leadership. She trained as a jurist before founding PowHer (formerly We Belong Europe) to normalise the presence of people of colour in positions of power across Europe.
Inspired by Michelle Obama, the 30-year-old aims to equip women and minorities with the tools to remain in leadership roles despite the challenges. One of her new initiatives, Lead Soulfully, supports female politicians by providing coaching to help them stay in their positions. Another initiative--Real Impact Hub--focuses on creating an inclusive society where everybody can reach their full potential, regardless of gender or disability.
Her commitment focuses on reducing inequalities and including women, minorities and people with disabilities, with the aim of transforming Luxembourg society. How does she describe her generation? “Creative, risk taking and hungry for impact.” For the future, Degrott envisions herself in the European Parliament or in a ministry, such as the ministry of equality and gender.
