Valentina Verri joined STDM architects and urban planners in 2011, becoming a partner in 2023. Over time, she has come to specialise in community living and has become a key contact for collective housing projects. Her research also focuses on sustainable architecture. For Paperjam, she reveals her favourite pieces of furniture.

Catifa Carta (2024) - Lievore Altherr Molina - Arper

“This chair is an evolution of the Catifa 53 model designed in 2001,” says Valentina Verri. “Designed using a circular process, its shell is made from paper derivatives, with natural resin binders. At the end of its life cycle, it can be reduced to vegetable charcoal. A chair in line with my values.”

Aplomb suspension lamp (2014/2024) - Lucidi and Pevere - Foscarini

"The simplicity and sobriety of the Aplomb suspension won me over at first glance, its cement and aluminium materiality reminds me of Arte Povera; the new coloured versions are elegant and original."

Home fragrances (since 1983) - Dr. Vranjes Firenze

"These home fragrances are a real olfactory experience that takes me back to memories of summer and travel. The octagonal shape of the bottle refers to the dome of Florence Cathedral."

Altana Sofa (2024) - Monica Armani - Lago

"This sofa really reminds me of altane, the high terraces typical of Venice. What I love about this sofa is the oval section of the wooden legs."

Aura Collection (2011) - Angel Martí & Enrique Delamo - Treku

"This Basque brand specialises in producing furniture in wood veneer, a natural veneer sourced from responsibly managed forests. The Aura collection has clean lines reminiscent of Scandinavian design, with a timeless style. I love the fact that this furniture can be completely configured to suit your own preferences."
