Impacted by the strike in Hollywood at the beginning of 2024, the Kinepolis group benefited from a good second half of the year, allowing it to catch up a little. Visitor-related results are at a lower level than 2023, but sales per visitor have increased.
. The report published on Friday 11 April gives more details on Luxembourg’s activity. 730,000 cinema-goers visited the country’s three cinemas (which have 22 screening rooms in total), compared with 820,000 in 2023. That’s a drop of 10.2%.
Revenues generated by the activities of Kinepolis in Luxembourg--which employs 41 people--totalled €19m, compared with €19.23m the previous year. On average, a customer spends around €16 when visiting one of the country’s three complexes.
For the future, the group detailed in its report a number of projects and guidelines, such as the implementation of a premiumisation and innovation strategy, with a view to improving the customer experience. The group plans to continue investing in the renovation of acquired cinemas, such as the one in Madrid, Spain. However, it is not neglecting sustainability aspects and plans to continue the transition to laser projection, which consumes less energy.
