By Grand-Ducal Decree of 12 June 2026, Paulette Lenert (LSAP) has been reinstated to the civil service and appointed senior government adviser for a renewable seven-year term commencing on 1 July 2026. The socialist is returning to a role she previously held before joining the government in 2018.
This return brings to a close a series of closely spaced events. On 22 May, an initial decree appointed her to the Council of State, to replace Yves Wagener, with effect from 9 June (requiring her to give up her seat as an MP). This reinstatement coincides with her appointment as commissioner for the Luxembourg pavilion at the 2030 Riyadh World Expo. Paulette Lenert is reportedly being considered for this role within the ministry of foreign trade.
