Tourist accommodation establishments in the EU recorded nearly 3.1 billion overnight stays in 2025, according to Eurostat. Luxembourg remains among the countries with the lowest totals and was one of the few to record a decline compared with 2024.

Tourist accommodation establishments across the European Union (EU) recorded nearly 3.1 billion overnight stays in 2025, representing an increase of 2.2% compared with 2024, or 66.4 million additional nights, according to Eurostat’s monthly tourism statistics.

The increase was driven mainly by international visitors. Nights spent by foreign guests rose by 3.4%, corresponding to 49.7 million additional nights, while domestic tourism increased by 1.1%, or 16.7 million nights.
