The stage, which set out from Remich, was marred by heavy traffic on the route. Wort journalist Joe Geimer tweeted: “Already yesterday a lot of discussions about the lack of security at the @skodatour. Riders not happy at all. And now: The bunch stopped after 18 kms. Riders complaining. A change is wanted. Too many cars on the parcours. Way too dangerous! #SkodaTour #TourdeLuxembourg”.
Organisers Skoda Tour Luxembourg tweeted at around noon that the riders would “ride in a neutralized cortege to the final circuit where a new start will be given in Syren.”
The postponed race began on Tuesday and ends on Saturday 19 September in Luxembourg-Limpertsberg at around 2pm.
