Von Restorff is the deputy CEO of Luxembourg for Finance, a promotion body backed by the government and several trade associations, which is located in Kirchberg. Here is some of what Delano saw when it visited his office in February:
Calamondin tree

This citrus plant was a gift and von Restorff thought it would be “nice to have at the office”. It’s a calamondin tree (Citrofortunella microcarpa), also known as calamansi, a hybrid between kumquat and mandarin orange, which is native to the Philippines. He gets a lot of compliments on the plant from people passing by his office. Indeed, it was the very first thing that Delano noticed during its visit.
Hot wheels & big heart
His daughter made this old timey race car at school about 10 years ago, when she was keen on handicrafts. The body is a toilet paper tube. Separately she crafted this heart made of beads for dad.

This fighter jet was his son’s favourite toy several years ago. “I loved to see him play with it. At one point in time, he wasn’t interested in it anymore,” which is when von Restorff claimed it. It is a reminder that “time passes so fast”. The car and jet “remind me of their childhood.”
Market bull

Fittingly for someone who works to promote the financial sector, von Restorff has a bull figurine in his office. He picked this one up in 2006, when he worked at the Luxembourg Bankers’ Association (ABBL).
Stock market gavel

He received this commemorative gavel when the State Bank of India signed a memorandum of understanding with the Luxembourg Stock Exchange on 11 November 2020. India is one of the markets he focusses on developing.
Street art
Von Restorff bought several pieces of street art during a mission to New York in November 2019. He bought them from a street vendor, meaning they quite literally are street art.
