After the defusal of the bomb by the Luxembourg army’s de-mining service Sedal, the train network was still disrupted. However, trains are scheduled to resume service at 18:00, according to the rail operator CFL. The security perimeter set up around the central train station has been lifted and streets will gradually be reopened for vehicles, announced the police.
Following the successful intervention of the Sedal, CFL employees begun returning to the various operational buildings (necessary for the operation of trains and infrastructures) which had to be evacuated, it said.
The explosive device was found during works on the extension of the capital’s main train station.
