This latest edition of Paperjam Together, the Paperjam Club’s event for SMEs, brought together business leaders and entrepreneurs alongside Alexandra Kahn (Chocolaterie Genaveh). The morning was devoted to the realities of entrepreneurship, covering topics such as business takeovers, growth, expertise and craftsmanship.

Designed as a forum for SME leaders to meet and share ideas, Paperjam Together gives a monthly platform to entrepreneurs who speak candidly about their journeys: their successes, but also the choices they have made, the challenges they have faced and the lessons they have learnt.

For this edition, Alexandra KahnAlexandra Kahn shared the story of her recovery from Genaveh in 2017 and the new impetus it has since given to the Luxembourg chocolate-making business. Coming from a completely different professional background, she embarked on this venture with the ambition of developing the business whilst preserving what makes it unique: its artisanal expertise and its roots in Luxembourg.

During the discussion, Alexandra Kahn reflected on the key decisions that shape the life of an SME: taking over an existing business and finding one’s feet, building a brand, putting together a team, breaking into new markets, and growing whilst retaining one’s identity. A real-life account of what it means to transform artisanal expertise into a genuine entrepreneurial venture.

The morning continued with the know-how sessions: five short, practical presentations led by Spuerkeess, Lalux Insurance, SD Worx, Luxembourg AI Factory and RSecure, addressing key issues for SMEs and providing business leaders with practical advice they can apply directly to their businesses. Participants were also able to exchange views in the “solutions” area, which was led by the business leaders themselves, as well as Business Mentoring Luxembourg, Verbalius and the teams at the Paperjam Club.

A big thank you to Alexandra Kahn, the speakers, our partners and all the participants for contributing to this latest morning of discussion and exchange amongst representatives of SMEs.
