Luxembourg Central Station is getting a new gourmet and friendly showcase. On Thursday 25 September, Le Wagon officially opened its doors, adding a touch of lifestyle to the daily flow of 80,000 passengers and local residents.
Over 158m², this new space operated by CFL Cactus Shoppi combines dining, relaxation and services. Three areas structure the offer: a bar-barista offering fairtrade coffees, pastries, salads or tapas to be enjoyed on the spot (45 seats); a "shop in the shop" dedicated to sushi prepared on the spot; and a service corner bringing together a Post point, newspapers, travel gadgets and takeaway snacks.
The official inauguration took place in the presence of the Minister of Mobility and Public Works, 
"It is important to offer passengers additional services in a station that go beyond mobility to make their daily lives easier, from the start to the end of their journeys. The station is often the place where their day begins and ends, particularly at work, and so it must become a place offering high-quality personalised services for customers looking for comfort and efficiency. I am convinced that interchanges offering services help to enhance the attractiveness of both the interchange and its neighbourhood," said Mobility Minister Yuriko Backes (DP).
The concept is a further step in the joint CFL and Cactus strategy, launched in May 2023 with the first CFL Cactus Shoppi. After Mersch in May 2025, further locations are planned in Bettembourg and Diekirch, as part of the "Gare de demain" project.
Open Monday to Saturday from 6am to 8pm, and on Sundays from 8am to 7pm, Le Wagon aims to establish itself as a daily fixture for station users and local employees alike.
