Big manoeuvres continue at Findel and the three main companies that support it. The current vice-president of the board of directors of Lux-Airport, Félicie Weycker, has just been elected president. She is the first government advisor in the ministry of mobility and also sits on the board of Luxtram and is vice-president of the CFL.

Weycker succeeds Tom Weisgerber, who announced on Friday 21 April during the board meeting that he would resign “at his own request.” For now, the senior civil servant still holds a seat as a simple administrator.

But Weisgerber could be appointed in the next few days to head Cargolux. After two years as chairman of the board of Cargolux, announced on 31 March that she was leaving the board to concentrate on her commercial activities. At the time, the cargo company announced that it would propose the appointment of Weisgerber at the end of the general meeting scheduled for 26 April.

Serge Hoffmann, who is also close to the government as first inspector at the ministry of finance, was already a member of the Lux-Airport board. Following the “promotion” of Weycker, he will become vice-president.

These appointments follow that of as the head of Luxair. With the legislative elections to be held in a few months, three senior civil servants close to the minister of mobility (déi Gréng) and to the government are taking over the presidency of the three major entities of Findel.

The situation at the airport is gradually improving: it recorded 4.1m passengers in 2022, double the 2m of 2021 and close to the 4.4m of 2019.
