The European Investment Bank held its second EIB Group Forum this week.

This year’s EIB Group Forum featured a presentation of , a panel highlighting and a discussion on how technology will shape the EU financial sector in the coming years.

“Sustained investment backed by coordinated EU policy support has been crucial to accelerate the energy transition and the adoption of new technologies,” , president of the European Investment Bank, in a press release on 7 February 2024. “Europe’s competitiveness and strategic autonomy hinge upon pooling resources, crowding in private capital and building partnerships within our union, and beyond. Europe can and will rise to the challenge.”

Speakers at the forum included , Luxembourg’s prime minister (CSV), Charles Michel, the European Council president, Roberta Metsola, the European Parliament president, Edi Rama, prime minister of Albania, and European commissioners Wopke Hoekstra, Mairead McGuinness and Kadri Simson.

The EIB said 900 people participated in the event.
