Deutsche Börse Group has successfully completed the acquisition of FundsDLT, a Luxembourg-based leader in digitised fund distribution, after receiving regulatory approval from the Luxembourg Financial Sector Supervisory Commission (CSSF), confirmed the group on Wednesday 10 January 2024. With this acquisition, Deutsche Börse Group now fully owns FundsDLT.
FundsDLT operates as a decentralised platform utilising distributed ledger technology for the end-to-end issuance and commercialisation of funds. Despite being owned entirely by Deutsche Börse Group, FundsDLT will function within the Clearstream Fund Services business segment and maintain operational independence from Clearstream, Deutsche Börse Group’s post-trading infrastructure provider in Luxembourg. Furthermore, FundsDLT will retain its legal identity and license under CSSF, Deutsche Börse Group in a press statement.
The former shareholders of FundsDLT, including Credit Suisse Asset Management, UBS Asset Management and Natixis Investment Managers, continue to be involved as committed clients, the company stated. Their ongoing participation is expected to aid Clearstream in further developing the use case for the platform.
