Berglind Fridriks has been appointed deputy director of the National Museum of Archaeology, History and Art (MNAHA), with effect from 1 January 2027, the Ministry of Culture announced on 25 September. The council of ministers has approved the proposal put forward by the minister for culture, Éric Thill, to submit this nomination to the Grand Duke.
She will join the museum director, Tania Brugnoni, and the deputy director, Régis Moes. The two deputies will have complementary responsibilities in supporting the strategic, organisational and scientific development of the MNAHA, which the ministry describes as the state’s largest cultural institute.
Over 20 years’ experience in human resources
Born in 1969, Berglind Fridriks holds a Master’s degree in Law, Economics and Management from IAE Nancy, specialising in human resources management. She has over 20 years’ experience in this field and has held senior management positions within international law firms and in the Luxembourg financial sector.
She then took charge of operations at a research institute, where she was responsible for all support functions. Since early 2025, she has been working in the Defence Directorate. There, she handles matters relating to the European Union and Nato and represents Luxembourg at multilateral meetings.
Éric Thill describes this appointment as a way of strengthening the museum’s leadership. “With this new management structure, which brings together complementary areas of expertise, the MNAHA now has a strengthened governance structure enabling it to pursue its missions of conservation, research, promotion and transmission of the national heritage with ambition,” said the minister for culture.
