A strengthened and expanded CSR strategy
“By 2025, our CSR strategy had undergone a significant transformation. We expanded from three to four pillars and from nine to thirteen strategic priorities, reflecting our commitment to broadening and further structuring our approach to sustainability,” emphasises Martine Schummer, administrator, executive committee member and head of CSR. The addition of a pillar dedicated to governance marks a significant milestone. It incorporates a culture of corporate responsibility and public engagement, strengthening the alignment between performance, ethics and responsibility. Among the new priorities is climate resilience, which aims to strengthen the capacity of infrastructure and regions to adapt to the effects of climate change.
Tangible progress towards the transition
The year 2025 was characterised by the growing integration of environmental considerations into the company’s projects, notably through the systematic inclusion of carbon footprint calculations in building and infrastructure project deliverables. CO₂ emissions have therefore become a design criterion in their own right, on a par with technical and economic performance. “Our ambition is to make sustainability second nature in every project. This requires new ways of working and the continuous development of our skills to enable us to provide practical support to our clients,” explains Martine Schummer.
In this context, Schroeder & Associés continues to develop its expertise in energy efficiency, the circular economy and resource management. The reuse of materials via the reUSE platform, selective demolition, and the use of recycled and low-carbon materials in its projects illustrate this transformation.
A transformation driven by its teams
This development is underpinned by the commitment of the company’s staff and the diversity of roles within the organisation. Skills development, knowledge sharing and collaboration are at the heart of this process. “The sustainable transition can only succeed if it is a collective effort. We are working to create an environment that enables everyone to make a tangible contribution to this transformation,” continues Martine Schummer.
This initiative forms part of the Schroeder 2030 strategy, which places sustainability at the heart of the business model and aims to generate a lasting positive impact for clients, local communities and future generations.
Recognition of a practical commitment
At the launch of the report, Schroeder & Associés was awarded the Green Business Events label, which recognises initiatives put in place to reduce the environmental impact of events. This recognition highlights the practical measures implemented for the event, including an outdoor venue, local produce, responsible resource management and collaboration with regional suppliers.
