The appointment coincides with ongoing and planned CapEx initiatives within the hotel portfolio. At the beginning of the year, the former Pullman Dresden was closed as scheduled to commence a comprehensive, value-enhancing renovation. As part of the works, all guest rooms as well as key public areas will be completely renewed. The hotel is scheduled to reopen in spring as the Barceló Dresden Newa.
The renovation forms part of Iremis’ value-add investment strategy and is aimed at the qualitative repositioning of the asset as well as the long-term stabilisation and safeguarding of its income base through an optimised building and functional layout.
Felix Müller brings more than 15 years of international experience in the technical and conceptual development of hotel assets. He played a leading role in the conceptualisation and brand development of the international lifestyle brand 7Pines Resorts and has held senior positions overseeing complex hotel and resort developments and repositioning projects in the premium segment across Europe and the United States.
Peter Lenhardt, director and head of the Hotel & Leisure Division at Iremis, commented: “With Felix, we are gaining a proven expert in sophisticated hospitality developments. His experience in brand development, technical due diligence and project management is an ideal complement to our team and supports our objective of delivering high-quality and sustainably successful hotel products for our investors.”
Felix Müller said: “Supporting Iremis during this dynamic growth phase is highly appealing to me. I look forward to further expanding the platform’s project development capabilities together with the team and to implementing new, value-enhancing hotel and leisure projects across Europe.”
Jochen Schäfer-Suren, founder and co-chairman of Iremis, added: “Felix’s expertise in the development of international hospitality brands and projects fits perfectly with our strategic direction. His appointment strengthens our ability to ensure technological, conceptual and economic quality throughout the entire investment process.”
