A unit of the French banking group Banque Populaire has officially opened its new flagship branch near the Place de l’Étoile.
Banque Populaire ALC - Succursale du Luxembourg’s new branch is located across from the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. The 590m2 office serves retail customers and professional and corporate clients, and hosts the bank’s area headquarters.
The inaugration is “a strong signal” to the market and “confirms” the bank’s commitment to economic development in Luxembourg, the bank stated in a press release on 31 January 2025.

Banque Populaire ALC - Succursale du Luxembourg was formerly known as Banque BCP Luxembourg and has operated in the grand duchy since 1967, serving Luxembourg and cross-border commuter clients. It has a total of six branches in the grand duchy, employing 80 staff members, including 17 at the new Place de l’Étoile location.
Banque Populaire ALC - Succursale du Luxembourg is part of Banque Populaire Alsace Lorraine Champagne (BPALC), a French regional cooperative bank which said it had “more than 800,000 clients.” It provides universal banking and insurance services to individuals and companies.
