Ardagh Group is stepping up its reorganisation. The group, headquartered in Luxembourg, announced on Friday the appointment of Alexander Kuzan as CEO of Ardagh Glass Packaging-Europe, whilst Timur Colak is expanding his responsibilities to become AGP’s chief commercial officer, in addition to his current role as chief transformation officer.

Following the announcement that Mike Dick, CEO of Ardagh Glass Packaging (AGP), will retire at the end of May 2026, the group is making significant changes to its reporting structure to give its regional divisions greater autonomy. Going forward, the heads of AGP’s three major regions – Brian Brandstatter for North America, Paul Curnow for Africa and Alexander Kuzan for Europe – will report directly to Mark Porto, Executive Chairman of Ardagh Group. Timur Colak will also remain under his direct responsibility.

“These appointments and structural changes mark a turning point for Ardagh Glass Packaging as we navigate a dynamic global market,” said Mark Porto. “By empowering our regional leaders and strengthening our commercial approach, we are positioning ourselves to act with greater speed and agility.”

AGP’s new European head joins from the Novelis Group, where he has served as Vice President and General Manager of the Can division in Europe since 2017. In this role, he was responsible for overseeing the company’s European strategy for beverage and food packaging. Alexander Kuzan holds a degree in computer science from the University of Zurich and is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

“AGP has a remarkable track record in terms of quality, innovation and customer-focused service,” said Alexander Kuzan. “I look forward to working with the European teams to build on this momentum, improve performance and support our customers in achieving their goals.”

Timur Colak’s rise to prominence also reflects a desire to further professionalise the group’s sales function. He will now lead the global sales process with a more structured approach focused on value creation. “We are strengthening our sales operations by introducing advanced analytical and sales modelling tools to support our entire sales process,” explained Timur Colak. “Our aim is to create greater value for both our customers and our company.”

The Ardagh Group is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of recyclable metal and glass packaging. The group operates 58 production sites across 16 countries and employs around 19,000 people. Its turnover stands at approximately $9.6 billion.
