Ardagh confirmed on Tuesday 25 November that its chief financial officer, John Sheehan, would be leaving at the end of the current financial year, a decision announced to the board earlier this year. The Group has launched a recruitment process and will announce the name of his successor at a later date.

"We are extremely grateful to John for his commitment and diligence, which has enabled him to defer his planned departure until the successful completion of the recapitalisation transaction. We send him our warmest wishes and appreciation for his important contribution," said Group Executive Chairman Mark Porto.

"I believe Ardagh is well positioned for its next phase, with a recapitalised balance sheet and strong market positions. I wish my colleagues and the new owners of the business every success for the future," he said.

For the record, Ardagh is a global supplier of recyclable metal and glass packaging. The company operates 58 production sites in 16 countries, employs around 19,000 people and had sales of around $9.1 billion in 2024.
