In an interview on 8 July 2026, Paul Jackson, global head of asset allocation research at Invesco, estimated the Fed’s neutral rate at 3.5–4%, higher than the Fed’s 3% view, suggesting policy is loose. For the ECB, he sees neutral near 3%. While recent hikes moved rates toward neutral, he cautions that further increases could move into policy error territory. Photo: Invesco and Shutterstock. “The real risk lies in the delay in the transition to sustainability”

For a long time, sustainability was seen as a constraint that hampered the competitiveness of European businesses. Today, this line of thinking is no longer tenable, according to Nathalie Dogniez, an independent director specialising in sustainable finance and president of Eurosif. In her view, the transition is no longer merely an environmental or societal issue. It must be regarded as an economic and strategic necessity for Europe.
