The Berlin-based fintech company Getquin, co-founded by Raphael Steil from Luxembourg, has announced a €12m funding round led by State Street Investment Management and Portage, with participation from both new and existing investors.

Founded in Berlin, Getquin is developing a digital platform that enables retail investors to track, analyse and understand their entire portfolio across different brokers, asset classes and geographical regions. The company now aims to accelerate its transition from a wealth tracking tool to a more comprehensive digital wealth management solution.

This latest round of fundraising is intended, in particular, to enable the company to strengthen its capabilities in artificial intelligence, portfolio analysis and hybrid financial planning and advisory services.

“Retail investors are now more engaged and informed than ever, but wealth management tools remain fragmented and outdated,” explains Christian Rokitta, co-founder and CEO of Getquin. “Our aim is to provide a smart platform that helps investors understand their current situation, their goals, and the best decisions to make in order to achieve them.”

A strategic partnership with State Street IM

As part of the deal, Getquin is also entering into a strategic partnership with State Street Investment Management. This partnership involves the development of new investment solutions integrated into Getquin’s platform, notably through the use of ETFs offered by State Street IM within the fintech’s advisory services.

State Street Investment Management, which manages over $5.5trn in assets, aims to strengthen its presence among a new generation of retail investors in Europe.

“Access to investment solutions for retail investors is rapidly becoming more widespread, and technology is playing a central role in this development,” says Yie-Hsin Hung, CEO of State Street Investment Management. “Our partnership with Getquin will enable us to bring our expertise and innovative capabilities to a wider audience.”

Focusing on AI and consultancy services

Among the priorities identified by Getquin are product development, capabilities relating to data and artificial intelligence, and the expansion of its consultancy services.

The company also plans to expand its teams in the areas of engineering, product development and asset management. Portage, a global investor specialising in fintech, sees this move as a sign of a profound transformation within the sector.

“A new generation of investors now expects the same level of intelligence, personalisation and transparency that has traditionally been reserved for institutional clients,” says Hélène Falchier, general partner at Portage. “Getquin is redefining modern wealth management by combining data, intuitive design and trusted guidance within a single platform.”

Alongside this fundraising round, Getquin has also entered into a partnership with media investor GMPVC to support the launch of its new services through a nationwide campaign in Germany.
