Luxembourg-based Mindgeek, owner of adult sites Pornhub, YouPorn and RedTube, on 21 June announced the departure of its CEO Feras Antoon and COO David Tassillo.

Their departure had been planned since early 2022, according to Reuters, which also reports that Antoon and Tassillo will remain shareholders.

Though Mindgeek says that there is both automated and human moderation of content uploaded to its websites, it insists that non-consensual videos and content featuring under18s had been on its platforms for years. As the company has its headquarters in Luxembourg, the affair surrounding due diligence of companies and the lack of national laws in the grand duchy.

The Washington Post reports that Mindgeek’s executive leadership team will run day-to-day operations until replacements for Antoon and Tassillo are found.
