And yes, even Otto (@ottoleteckeltropmignon), Angelo or Paf the dog are entitled to their moment of socialising or elegance. We’ve put together a list of places where you can hang out, have brunch, enjoy afternoon tea or dine, always accompanied by your faithful companion and, above all, without having to put up with sidelong glances from the owner or a grumpy neighbour at the next table.

Café Villa and its dog-friendly bar

As dog lovers (and owners of two rather large dogs), the owners of Café Villa came up with a simple yet brilliant and innovative idea for Luxembourg: to create a proper spot for dogs. The result? A ‘woof bar’ that almost steals the show from the human brunch. Fresh water, non-alcoholic beer, wholesome homemade biscuits (with no colourings or additives)… everything is designed with them in mind. And while all that’s going on, you can enjoy a leisurely brunch whilst Fido enjoys the best social life imaginable.

Bonus: dog-only events for Valentine’s Day, Halloween… and perhaps soon, weather permitting, a beach party. Always in the buff. Never in the buff.

SixSeven

Stylish, cutting-edge… and dog-friendly. Yes, all of that combined.

At Six Seven restaurant, Henry Hassid champions his croissants and pains au chocolat as if they were a national treasure – and, quite honestly, he’s not exaggerating. We’re talking about pastries of world-class calibre here. During the week, the new chef is finding his feet whilst the spring menu is being prepared. And on the sweet side? Margaux Escarfignoux (the creator of the croissants and pains au chocolat mentioned above) is pulling out all the stops. Not to be missed: the tonka bean dessert (which has arrived to give the equally renowned chocolate millefeuille a run for its money). Light, airy, perfectly executed… the sort of thing that makes you use that local expression to describe this dessert: ‘the Baby Jesus in velvet trousers’.

Cereal Lovers

The hangout for big kids (and they’re proud of it). We’ve actually told you before about their cookies – “the best in town”, according to Otto’s mum, the utterly adorable dachshund. On top of that, here, cereals are mixed up like cocktails. Sugar, fun, zero guilt. The place really plays on nostalgia with an ultra-Instagrammable twist. You come in for ‘just a bowl’, you leave with a blast from the past. On the drinks front, there’s something new for the warmer weather: a nice cold espresso tonic, iced matcha with strawberry or passion fruit… it smells like summer.

Dogs? Of course. Inside, outside, on the terrace… they’re part of the scene and are very welcome.

Beefbar

Housed within the Smets concept store, Beefbar Luxembourg has quickly established itself as a hybrid venue where gastronomy, design and lifestyle come together in a sophisticated, contemporary setting. Here, even the burger deserves a standing ovation! Welcome to the temple of luxury meat. Between deals being struck and meat lovers on a pilgrimage, the atmosphere is opulent, serious… but justified. Exceptional cuts, ultra-chic comfort food, precision plating. Yes, it’s top-notch. And yes, it comes at a price. But here’s the good news: your dog will be treated as a VIP, just like you. Or even more so.

The Opera

Chic, impressive and surprisingly dog-friendly. At L’Opéra, the presentation of the dishes, the quality of the ingredients and the standard of service all reflect a high level of excellence. From the management to the front-of-house team, the restaurant stands out for its polished professionalism and constant focus on the customer experience. You come for the menu, but also to feel a little more pampered than usual. The icing on the cake for your furry friend is that here, dogs are welcomed like regulars. On Sundays in particular, they turn up in droves, trailing their humans who have come for a leisurely brunch in a welcoming setting.
