Part of the European Squash Federation’s Junior Circuit, the KPMG & AMS Luxembourg Junior Open tournament has attracted a healthy field of top quality players, giving spectators a chance to watch some keenly competitive squash featuring potential future stars of the sport.
Principal Sponsors of the LJO, KPMG and AMS have said that they are delighted with the response to tournament, with 76 players registered from 11 different countries. KPMG’s Dennis Robertson said “It is very encouraging to see such a great tournament in prospect. It is clear that there will be some great squash and that players, officials and spectators will enjoy the weekend”. Mark Gillies of AMS added “To have such a prestigious international junior tournament here can only be positive for the development of squash in Luxembourg.”
The tournament is a fun event, with players and coaches and family members as well as squash enthusiasts all socialising and exchanging ideas about the game.
The first matches begin at 5.30 p.m. on Friday April 19 and the finals will conclude on Sunday with the last match scheduled for around 2 p.m.
