When it comes to holidays on the Luxembourg side, that means a cut in the link between Luxembourg and Bettembourg, at least as long as the new line is not yet in service—with commissioning being announced for September 2027. Border and resident users will therefore need to be patient once again from this Saturday 14 February until Sunday 22 February inclusive.

In more detail, the work being carried out on line 60 between Luxembourg and Bettembourg will impact all trains passing through Bettembourg, both those coming from France and those coming from all over Luxembourg. They will be replaced, in both directions, by a replacement bus service for the duration of the outage, explains the CFL. It should be noted that TGV trains will continue to run.

The start of a long series

These works are part of a programme of dams announced last January. The next scheduled ones will take place during the Easter holidays, from 28 March to 12 April inclusive, when large sections of the network will still be affected, notably between Luxembourg and Arlon, Luxembourg and Ettelbruck or Diekirch, as well as between Bettembourg and Esch-sur-Alzette. The summer will then see the biggest impact on users. Between mid-July and the end of August, several major routes will be interrupted, including the Luxembourg-Bettembourg, Luxembourg-Thionville, Luxembourg-Esch-sur-Alzette and Ettelbruck-Troisvierges routes.
