CMS Luxembourg announced on Tuesday 1 September the arrival of Matthieu De Donder as a partner in its Corporate/M&A department. The firm thus aims to strengthen its capabilities in mergers and acquisitions and private equity.

The lawyer has over ten years’ experience working with private equity funds, institutional investors, family offices and corporate groups. He specialises in particular in Luxembourg-based and cross-border transactions, joint ventures, restructurings, corporate governance and the establishment of investment platforms.

Before joining CMS, Matthieu De Donder was a partner at Molitor Avocats à la Cour. He has also practised at A&O Shearman and Linklaters. “What attracted me to CMS was not only the strength of the platform and the ambition of the Luxembourg office, but also the people and the culture of collaboration,” he said in the press release. He will be working with the teams specialising in funds, banking and finance, tax, litigation and employment law. Founded in 1999, the CMS network comprises 92 offices in over 50 countries and more than 7,200 lawyers.
