Marianne Rau, partner at Arendt & Medernach for more than 20 years, has passed away at the age of 47.

"We pay tribute to the great human and professional qualities of Marianne, who worked with us for 20 years. Her memory will be with us forever,” the partners and associates of law firm stated in an obituary notice following Rau's death on 27 July.

Rau graduated from the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne with a master's degree in private and business law and joined Arendt & Medernach in 2002. She progressively climbed the ranks of the firm, becoming a senior associate and then a partner in 2017. Specialised in administrative law, real estate law, construction law, environmental law and litigation, she had been a member of the Luxembourg Bar Association since 1999 and served on the disciplinary and administrative board of the Luxembourg and Diekirch Bar Associations from 2015 to 2019.

A talented lawyer and mother, Rau will also be remembered as a dedicated person.
