On Wednesday, the database Dealroom revealed that it had ranked the VC firm Mangrove Capital Partners eighth place among seed investors in the EMEA region.

For 25 years, Mangrove Capital Partners has been an exception in the VC world. Founded in 2000 in Luxembourg, the firm has built its reputation by making early bets on companies destined for global success, from Skype to Wix. In 2025, international rankings once again confirm its place among the players that count.

When Mangrove invested $2m in Skype in 2003, few people believed in the future of free calls over the internet. Two years later, Ebay’s acquisition turned this intuition into a jackpot: over $200m in returns for the fund. It was the same story with Wix, the website creation platform that has become a Nasdaq-listed multinational. These visionary bets forge the legend of Mangrove: a contrarian, bold and patient fund.

, released this Wednesday, confirm the performance. Mangrove is in the top 10 in 2025. The firm comes in eighth place among seed investors in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa). It is also in the top 20 for all stages combined in EMEA and in the top 40 early stage funds worldwide. It’s a result that extends the distinctions achieved two years earlier in Dealroom’s Power-Law Investor Ranking, where Mangrove already occupied a prominent position: top 50 worldwide, top 10 in Europe and number one in Benelux.

A driving role for the ecosystem

With its head office in Luxembourg, a technology hub in Tel Aviv and branches in several European capitals: Mangrove has built a network at the service of innovation. This dual presence--at the heart of financial Europe and the Israeli startup ecosystem--gives it a unique position for identifying future technological leaders. Its partners emphasise a close relationship with the founders, a culture of diversity and long-term support. “We’re not here to dictate choices, but to give entrepreneurs the means to achieve their ambitions,” CEO  often sums up.

By establishing itself as one of Europe’s leading investors, Mangrove Capital Partners is helping to put Luxembourg on the global venture capital map. It’s a success story that is inspiring the region’s new generation of entrepreneurs and investment funds.

Countering fashions and true to its intuition, Mangrove has proved that it is possible, from Luxembourg, to play in the big league of global venture capital. With its 2025 rankings, the firm confirms that it remains one of the few European investors capable of competing with the American and Asian giants.
