Since the law of January 7, 2022, on the accessibility of public spaces, public roads, and collective housing buildings came into effect, accessibility is now a legal requirement and a strategic tool for all economic stakeholders in Luxembourg.

To support this transition and promote the practical implementation of legal requirements, the Ministry of Family Affairs, Solidarity, Living Together and Reception of Refugees, the Ministry of Home Affaires, and Info-Handicap – Conseil national des personnes handicapées are organizing a series of events titled: “We are all part of building an accessible society.” These events are also supported by the Agence pour le développement de l’emploi (Adem) and the Osaps.

Scheduled to take place across the country between late June and early July 2026, these events are primarily aimed at municipalities, business leaders, and professionals, as well as anyone concerned with the accessibility of spaces, services, and communication. Four dates are available:

• 25 June in Esch-sur-Alzette;

• 29 June in Marnach;

• 30 June in Walferdange;

• 1 July in Grevenmacher.

At the heart of the discussion: the current legal framework, including the 2022 law on accessibility of public spaces and the March 8, 2023, law on the accessibility of products and services. Participants will thus be able to better understand their obligations and identify concrete realistic solutions tailored to the realities on the ground.

Beyond regulatory aspects, the events will highlight key topics such as access to employment, tourism and culture for all, and accessible communication. Presentations, good practices and discussion sessions will foster the exchange of experiences between public and private stakeholders.

In a context where accessibility is also a factor of competitiveness, these meetings offer a valuable opportunity to turn a legal constraint into a sustainable advantage, while contributing to a more inclusive society.

Participants who attend one of the events and wish to do so may, upon request, obtain a certificate of participation issued by Info-Handicap, as an accredited vocational training Centre.

The events presented in Luxembourgish are designed to be accessible, notably through simultaneous translation into French and German, to ensure the widest possible participation. German sign language interpretation and German live captioning services will also be provided for the events on June 30 and July 1st (registration required by June 14, 2026).
