LuxConnect launched its first data centre on 10 October 2006; today it runs four facilities totaling “14,700 m2 of rack space”.

The firm got started with government backing as part of an economic development programme that has helped the Grand Duchy emerge has a European data centre hub.

LuxConnect operates colocation data centres, meaning it is something like a hotel renting space and infrastructure out to companies to then run their own servers.

The event took place just days after LuxConnect announced an alliance Volta Data Centres in London. That deal allows customers to sign a single contract with both firms, TechWeekEurope reported on 6 October.
