Major roadworks on the A13 towards Schengen will take place between 13 and 16 June, resulting in closures and detours this weekend. Plan your journeys in advance to avoid any inconvenience.

If your usual route takes you along the A13 motorway towards Schengen, please note the following span: from 9pm on Friday, 13 June 2025 until 5am on Monday, 16 June 2025. During this period, essential surface course renewal work will be carried out between the Bettembourg cross and the Altwies interchange.

In concrete terms, the A13 towards Schengen will be completely closed between the Bettembourg exit and the Altwies interchange. In addition, the accesses and exits of the Hellange and Frisange interchanges towards Schengen will also be blocked off. For the duration of the works, traffic on the A13 in the affected area will be managed in two-way mode. This means that traffic will flow in a single lane in each direction, and the maximum speed will be limited to 70 km/h. So expect slowdowns and even traffic jams, particularly at peak times.

To guide motorists and keep traffic flowing, specific diversion routes have been put in place:

—If you are coming from the N13 and wish to get onto the A13: You will be diverted from the Hellange interchange. You will then have to follow the N13, then the CR161, the N39, before being able to get back on the motorway via the Burange interchange.

—If you are travelling on the A13 from the Bettembourg cross towards Hellange or Frisange: You will not be able to exit directly. You will have to continue on the A13 towards Schengen, take the Altwies interchange, then follow the N16 and finally the N13 to reach your destination.

—If you are coming from the N3 and intend to take the A13 towards Schengen: The detour will take place from the Frisange interchange. Your route will take in the N3, the N13, the N16, finally joining the A13 via the Altwies interchange.

It is important to note that preparatory works will start a few hours before the complete closures. Traffic disruption is therefore to be expected from the late afternoon of Friday, 13 June.
