The board of directors of Hëllef um Terrain announced on Monday 28 April the appointment of as president of the association. She succeeds Christian Billon, who had held the position since the . Charged with supporting the association’s first steps and laying solid foundations, Billon will continue to sit on the board of directors.
Created in the wake of the scandal that shrouded Caritas Luxembourg----Hëllef um Terrain has taken over the national support activities for vulnerable people, previously provided by Caritas.
Monti’s appointment marks a new stage for the association. Trained as a lawyer specialising in family and children’s law, she served as Luxembourg’s ombudsman for eight years and .
“With her experience, her knowledge of the field, her determination and her deeply human nature, she will open up new perspectives for Hëllef um Terrain that will enable the not-for-profit organisation not only to strengthen its support initiatives, but also to consider new partnerships and launch new projects and thus to help the most vulnerable people in our society even more,” the association concludes.
