Anne Calteux has represented the European Commission in Luxembourg since September 2021. In this role, she oversees the institution’s political communication and strategic coordination in the country. Prior to this, she was head of European and International Affairs and Senior Adviser to the Minister for Health, where she held a key role within the Covid-19 crisis unit.
A lawyer by training, with a Master’s degree in Comparative European Law (LL.M.) from King’s College London, Anne Calteux also practised as a barrister at the Luxembourg Bar between 1999 and 2003. She then represented Luxembourg at the European Union on public health and social security matters from 2004 to 2013, before continuing her career in senior management roles with a strong European focus.
For her part, Anne-Catherine Ries, senior government adviser, has played a key role in the development of Luxembourg’s digital ecosystem, notably through the launch of the Digital Luxembourg initiative in 2014, and sits on the boards of SES and Post Luxembourg.
