On 9 October, Museum Night will be celebrating its 20th anniversary and an even more festive programme than usual is planned to attract the public to the capital’s museums.

In 2001, the stater muséeën group launched the first edition of Museum Night in Luxembourg. Twenty years later, the event is still going strong: it has grown from 6,000 visitors for the first edition to more than 24,000 for the last edition in 2019. For one long evening, until 1am, the seven museums of the group open their doors free of charge to allow visitors to discover the exhibitions and collections within.

The next Museum Night will take place on 9 October and will mark the 20th anniversary of the event with a special programme of guided tours, music, performances, workshops, culinary surprises and a festive all-nighter at Casino Luxembourg.

The event will be accessible through a single ticket for all seven venues. Free shuttles will be provided to facilitate travel between the participating museums.

Attention: the 2021 edition will be held under the CovidCheck regime. Children under six years of age are exempt from presenting a certificate, and self-tests on site will not be accepted. Prior to the event, visitors will have the opportunity to have a free certified antigen test at one of the 15 test centres spread throughout the capital. In addition, the free antigen test certification centre of the City of Luxembourg (70, Grand-Rue, L-1660) will be open until 9pm on Museum Night in collaboration with Santé Services. To avoid queuing, it is nevertheless strongly advised to take a test in the morning or in the afternoon in one of the 15 approved centres, if necessary.
