Maurice Bauer has been an alderman of the City of Luxembourg since August 2019, is in charge of Social action, Senior Services, Housing, Gender equality, Integration policy and Youth affairs, and before that, a municipal councillor of the City of Luxembourg since 2011.
He is currently Secretary General to the Board of directors of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. Previously, he was Secretary General at CETREL.
He trained as a lawyer at Schiltz & Schiltz law firm before joining the Dexia-BIL Group as a legal advisor.
He is Chairman of the Foundation “Maison de la Porte Ouverte”, an organization that cares for abused and disadvantaged children and women.
Maurice Bauer holds a master in law, graduating in 1997 from the University of Strasbourg. During his studies, he worked as a journalist at the European Parliament.

Maurice Bauer est Echevin de la Ville de Luxembourg depuis août 2019. Il siège au Conseil Communal de la Ville depuis octobre 2011. Il est Secrétaire Général du Conseil d’administration de la Bourse de Luxembourg. Avant de rejoindre la Bourse de Luxembourg, il a été pendant 6 années Secrétaire Général de CETREL. Auparavant, il a entamé le stage d’avocat à l’étude Schiltz & Schiltz avant de rejoindre la BIL en tant que conseiller juridique. Il est par ailleurs Président du Conseil d’administration de la Fondation Maison de la Porte Ouverte, organisation caritative qui œuvre en faveur de personnes maltraitées et défavorisées. Maurice Bauer est maître en droit, diplôme obtenu en 1997 à l’Université Robert Schuman de Strasbourg. Pendant les études, il a été accredité comme journaliste auprès du Parlement Européen et du Conseil de l’Europe.
