Il représente également le TTO Flanders au sein du Comité consultatif des associations nationales (NAAC) en 2017.
En tant que directeur général adjoint du LIST, Jurgen Joossens dirige les activités de valorisation de l'institut, s'appuyant sur son expérience pour améliorer la diffusion des connaissances et des technologies. Au cours de sa carrière, il a occupé un poste de scientifique chez Janssen Pharmaceutica (J&J) et celui de responsable de la valorisation au sein du réseau Antwerp Drug Discovery Network. Contributeur prolifique dans le domaine scientifique, il est coauteur de plus de 60 publications et co-inventeur de neuf demandes de brevet.

Jurgen Joossens brings a wealth of expertise to the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), with a distinguished career spanning academia, industry, and knowledge transfer. As of 2016, he served as Head of the Valorisation Office (TTO) at the University of Antwerp, Belgium. His previous roles include Vice President Finance and Business Development at ASTP, Europe’s premier association for knowledge transfer professionals, and membership on the Board of Directors at UBIS NV, the University of Antwerp’s incubator. Since 2017, he has also represented TTO Flanders in the National Associations Advisory Committee (NAAC).
As LIST’s Deputy CEO, Jurgen Joossens leads the Institute’s valorisation activities, drawing on his experience to improve knowledge and technology dissemination. His expertise in identifying optimal valorisation strategies plays a major role in strengthening LIST’s impact and contributions to the scientific and innovation ecosystem.
Jurgen Joossens holds a pharmaceutical degree (2000) and a PhD in medicinal chemistry (2005). His professional journey includes a scientist position at Janssen Pharmaceutica (J&J) and a tenure as Valorisation Manager at the Antwerp Drug Discovery Network. A prolific contributor to science, he has co-authored over 60 publications and is a co-inventor on nine patent applications.
