Frederik Johnsen is the CEO and Chairman of the Management Board at JAO, based in Luxembourg. He joined JAO in 2008, contributing to the establishment and development of its operational framework. Over the years, he has held several leadership positions, including the COO position, and played a fundamental role in JAO’s evolution into the single European auction platform for cross-border electricity transmission rights.

Appointed CEO in March 2023, Frederik drives JAO’s strategic direction to strengthen JAO towards market integration and support Europe’s energy transition. 

He holds an Executive MBA from IE Business School and a Master of Arts with Honours in Economics and Management from the University of St Andrews.
