Diplômé en électrotechnique et télécommunications à l’Université technique de Vienne, Gaston Bohnenberger fait en 1988 ses premières armes au sein de la Division des Télécommunications de P&T Luxembourg (devenue POST Luxembourg en 2013) en tant qu’ingénieur télécom dans les réseaux fixes et les projets sur mesure. Entre 1990 et 2001, il siège dans le domaine satellitaire au Conseil d’Administration d’Eutelsat. A partir de 1997, il commence le déploiement d’un réseau à fibres optiques FTTH activé à partir de 2009. Il reprend entre 2003 et 2006, en sus de la responsabilité du réseau satellitaire qu’il encadre depuis 1988, le réseau mobile. En 2006, il devient Chef du Département Infrastructures Fixes et Mobiles, et depuis 2013, Gaston Bohnenberger est Directeur de POST Technologies et rejoint le Comité exécutif de POST Luxembourg.

Gaston Bohnenberger studierte Elektrotechnik und Telekommunikation an der Technischen Universität Wien. 1988 machte er seine ersten Erfahrungen in der Telekommunikationsabteilung von P&T Luxembourg (seit 2013 POST Luxembourg) als Telekom-Ingenieur im Bereich Festnetz und maßgeschneiderte Projekte. Zwischen 1990 und 2001 saß er im Satellitenbereich im Verwaltungsrat von Eutelsat. Ab 1997 begann er mit dem Aufbau eines FTTH-Glasfasernetzes, das ab 2009 aktiviert wurde. Zwischen 2003 und 2006 übernahm er zusätzlich zu seiner Verantwortung für das Satellitennetz, das er seit 1988 betreut, auch das Mobilfunknetz. Seit 2013 ist Gaston Bohnenberger Direktor von POST Technologies und Mitglied des Exekutivkomitees von POST.
