Aline Muller is the Chief Executive Officer of the Luxembourg Institute for Socio-Economic Research (LISER) and a Professor of Economics and Finance at the University of Liège in Belgium. She is strongly committed to creating societal value through science, a vision that has guided her leadership in transforming LISER into an internationally recognised research centre driving economic and social progress in Luxembourg and across Europe.

She serves on the board of the Luxembourg Central Bank and is vice-president of the Luxembourg National Data Service (LNDS). She has also served as interim Chair of the Board of the Luxembourg Agency for Research Integrity.

Internationally respected for her scientific work in financial economics, Aline Muller has built over two decades of expertise in strategic research management and international relations, with a particular focus on Africa and the Middle East. Her career has spanned multiple countries and institutional contexts, and she draws on this breadth of experience to contribute actively to national and international boards, advancing both science and policy.
