Marjut Falkstedt has been Chief Executive of the European Investment Fund since January 2023.
Previously, she was Deputy Secretary General and then Secretary General of the EIB, and from 2013 to 2015 Deputy Chief Executive of the European Investment Fund, where she was responsible for Risk Management & Compliance, Finance & Budget, information and Middle & Back Office.

Before joining the EIB group, Marjut worked for the European Commission, in the Directorate General Economic and Financial Affairs (ECFIN), where she held various roles in the field of SME and infrastructure financing as well as sovereign lending. Previously, she had different responsibilities in audit and lending within Dresdner Bank.

Marjut Falkstedt est Directrice du Fonds européen d'investissement depuis janvier 2023. 
Auparavant, elle était secrétaire générale adjoint, puis secrétaire générale de la BEI et, de 2013 à 2015, directrice générale adjointe du Fonds européen d'investissement, où elle était responsable de la gestion des risques et de la conformité, des finances et du budget, de l'information ainsi que du middle et du back office.

Avant de rejoindre le groupe BEI, Marjut a travaillé pour la Commission européenne, à la Direction générale des affaires économiques et financières (ECFIN), où elle a occupé diverses fonctions dans le domaine du financement des PME et des infrastructures, ainsi que des prêts souverains. Auparavant, elle a exercé différentes responsabilités dans les domaines de l'audit et des prêts au sein de la Dresdner Bank.
