This workshop offers a practical and accessible introduction to financial statements, designed to help non-financial professionals better grasp the financial logic behind business performance.

During the session, participants will explore the three core financial statements, the profit & loss, the balance sheet and the cash flow statement  in order to understand their respective roles and how they interact to provide a comprehensive view of a company’s financial situation.

The workshop will illustrate how operational performance is reflected in the profit & loss, how resources and financing are structured in the balance sheet, and how cash flow statements help assess a company’s real ability to generate cash.

Special attention will be given to key concepts that are essential for interpreting financial information, including margins, profitability, financial structure, working capital requirements and the fundamental difference between accounting profit and cash generation.

Participants will also discover the key financial indicators commonly used by executives, investors, and analysts to assess a company’s performance and financial strength, and how these indicators support effective decision-making.

Through practical examples and real-life inspired cases, this workshop will help participants develop a more structured and critical approach to reading financial statements, while gaining a better understanding of the financial implications of operational and strategic decisions.
