Celebrate Luxembourg’s national day with a changing of the guard, a torchlight procession, concerts, parties, fireworks and more.

Although Grand Duke Henri’s actual birthday is 16 April, the monarch’s birthday is celebrated on Luxembourg’s national day, 22-23 June.

The festivities start on 22 June at 16:00 with a changing of the guard at the grand ducal palace, followed by a Fakelzuch (torchlight procession) through the capital city. The fireworks display above the Adolphe Bridge will take place at 23:00.

The programme on 23 June kicks off at 10:00 with an official ceremony at the Luxembourg Philharmonie, which includes speeches, awards and a concert. At noon, there will be a ceremonial drill, military parade and flyover on the Avenue de la Liberté, and in the late afternoon, there’s the traditional Te Deum at Notre Dame Cathedral.

There will also be a Spillfest (games event) on the Kinnekswis on 23 June, 10:00 to 18:00.

The City Sounds music festival will take place on the Champs du Glacis on 22-23 June.

And the army will display vehicles and uniforms on the Place de Metz.
