As part of the Cinémathèque’s comedy classics series, enjoy a screening of the 1993 film Groundhog Day on Groundhog Day (2 February).

Nasty weatherman Phil Connnors (Bill Murray) gets trapped in a timeloop and is forced to relive 2 February--Groundhog Day--over and over and over and over and over again. As the film progresses and he continues to relive Groundhog Day, Connors eventually has a change of heart, helping the townspeople and falling in love with his skeptical producer Rita Hanson (Andie MacDowell).

(And yes--one of the stars of the film really is a groundhog. He plays Punxsutawney Phil, a Pennsylvania groundhog known for predicting the arrival of spring.)
