Uplift360 announced on Thursday, 30 April 2026, the appointment of Alistair Donaldson as chief technology officer as the company advances its industrial growth across aerospace, defence and industrial sectors. Based in Bristol and Luxembourg, the company develops advanced materials solutions and moves toward large-scale deployment of its chemical regeneration technologies.
Uplift360 develops systems such as ChemR, which recover high-performance fibres from surplus material and end-of-life assets under low-temperature and low-energy conditions. The company positions this approach within circular supply chains for industrial manufacturing.
Experience in scaling technology
Donaldson joins from Levidian Nanosystems, where he served as CTO and led the transition from laboratory development to commercial deployment. At Uplift360, he will be responsible for scaling core processes into industrial systems that support high-performance manufacturing supply chains. He brings more than 20 years of experience at Rolls-Royce in materials science, technology development and team leadership.

European demand and partnerships
CEO and co-founder Sam Staincliffe links the appointment to demand in Europe. “Europe is calling for advanced materials capacity at a scale and pace we haven’t seen before,” he says, adding that the company now has “additional firepower to scale at the speed this moment demands.”
Uplift360 develops regeneration technologies for materials such as carbon fibre and aramid and receives support from UK Dasa, Luxembourg Government Directorate of Defence, Innovate UK, Extantia and Nato Innovation Fund. The company works with partners including Babcock, Leonardo and Rolls-Royce and appears in Resilience Media’s 100 Startups to Watch in 2026.
