Tétris Design & Build revolutionises office design with its sustainable approach incorporating the circular economy.

, a JLL subsidiary specialising in the design and fit-out of professional spaces, is establishing itself as an opinion leader in sustainable development by integrating the circular economy into its development projects. The company recently applied its innovative approach to the relocation of Belux’s head office in Brussels, using up to 80% recycled materials for partitions, flooring, joinery and furniture.

By integrating circular design into the creation of inspiring spaces, we are setting a new standard for sustainable working environments.

“With Tétris Design & Build, re-use becomes essential,” concludes Amandine Chizelle.

JLL Belgium’s new head office is a perfect example of this approach. Vladimir, senior project manager at Tétris Belgium, explains: “Finding suppliers capable of meeting our re-use targets was a challenge. We aimed for 50-80% of materials to be reused for glazing, partitions and wall and floor coverings. We even used off-cuts of laminate from local joineries. This required creative thinking and solid partnerships.”

As far as the furniture is concerned, many items have been reconditioned and given a second life. The whole point of re-use is to guarantee the same level of service quality, with minimal carbon impact. “Re-use is a success when you can’t see it.”

This innovative approach is based on three pillars:

1. The integration of re-use objectives right from the design phase, by the designer in particular.

2. Reinventing the supply chain to adapt to the availability of re-used materials, which by definition are only available for a short time.

3. Identifying service providers who specialise in removing, refitting and reconditioning equipment.

The result? An attractive and sustainable workspace, indistinguishable from a traditional 100% new fit-out, but with a considerably reduced carbon footprint. The benefits for occupants are manifold:

-Strategic coherence: Guarantee a property strategy in line with the CSR strategy or corporate culture.

-Enhanced employer brand: Improving employee commitment through sustainable practices.

-Controlling the carbon footprint.

-Anticipating regulations: Preparing for future environmental reporting requirements.

-Responding to ESG criteria: Meeting increasingly stringent standards.

-Differentiation: Position ourselves as sustainability leaders in our sector.

Tétris Design & Build continues to challenge the industry and the supply chain, proving that the circular economy can be successfully applied to office design without compromising on quality or aesthetics.
