Number of beds, hospitalisations, duration, financial results--here are ten figures that summarise the activity of the Robert Schuman Hospitals (RSH) in 2021. They are taken from the published on Tuesday 18th October 2022.
€4.6m profit
Although 2021 was still marked by covid, its impact on the financial results is diminishing. The hospital ended the year with a profit of €4.6m, compared to a loss of €5m in 2020. This is an improvement on the €151,456 of 2019.
In terms of turnover, the figure rose from €328.6m in 2020 to €367.8m in 2021.
27 more beds
The hospital's capacity has also increased. It now has 730 beds, 27 more than in 2019 and 2020.
6.97 days on average
The average length of stay has decreased from 7.51 to 6.97 days.
169,765 hospital days
Similarly, there are fewer inpatient days: 169,765 compared to 176,971 in 2020 and 200,321 in 2019. Among them, 8,947 hospitalisations in intensive care, compared to 8,739 in 2020 and 9,434 in 2019.
53,929 emergency room/polyclinic visits
40,214 adults and 13,715 children under the age of 18 went to emergency in 2021. This figure is down for adults from 44,928 in 2020, but up for children from 9,453.
2,629 deliveries
The number of deliveries increased every year: 2,336 in 2019, 2,541 in 2020 and 2,629 in 2021.
30,658 surgical interventions
30,658 surgical procedures were performed, a return to the 2019 level (30,918) after a drop in 2020 (26,845).
22,948 haemodialysis sessions
On the other hand, fewer haemodialysis sessions were performed: 22,948 instead of 23,989. But more than the 22,386 of 2019.
165,581 medical imaging visits
The activity in medical imaging and MRI is increasing. 165,581 passages were recorded in the first case, compared to 162,926 in 2020. 24,616 instead of 21,021 in the second.
23,507,488 kWh of electricity consumed
In these times of energy crisis, it is interesting to see what a hospital consumes. In terms of electricity, we were at 23,507,488 kWh in 2021. More than the 17,214,182 kWh in 2020. On the water side, 120,784m3 were consumed, slightly less than in 2020 (121,087m3)
