“A more agile organisation,” says Tom Wirion, the chamber’s director, as he introduces his new management committee. “We are moving from three main blocks to seven pillars,” he says. There is no longer a deputy director general or a secretary general. Charles Bassing and Sabrina Funk, who respectively held these positions, have chosen to take up other challenges outside of the chamber.

Instead, the director general is supported by a director of public affairs and analysis, Marc Gross, and an administrative and financial director, Marc Magniez. Anne Majerus becomes coordinator for European affairs. Hanna Meyer assumes the post of director of communication, marketing and public relations. The advice and services directorate is headed by Gilles Reding while Patricia Schneberger takes charge of human resources and internal communication.

The Chamber of Trade has grown

For most of them, this is not a major change in their tasks, except for Marc Gross, who was previously in charge of social and European affairs. The same can be said about Patricia Schneberger, who joined the chamber at the beginning of July, replacing the former head of HR, who retired.

The changes, which have been in place since August, are mainly general, says Wirion. The aim is to "coordinate better, to have more fluidity between departments and a greater number of people around the table" when decisions are made and at the same time "to give young people a perspective,” he adds.

This was all the more necessary as, since 2015, the Chamber of  Skilled Trades and Crafts has created 16 new posts to support its various projects. It currently has 84 employees. It represents 8,031 craft enterprises, employing 99,579 people.
