How do you see Luxembourg Airport evolving over the next ten years to meet the growing demand for connectivity while ensuring sustainability and safety?
: Given our position next to the airport, the Moxy Luxembourg Airport hotel will play a key role in its future development. We are therefore ready to support airport stakeholders in this development, whether in improving the passenger experience or in supporting businesses based near the airport.
There’s no doubt that the airport district will look very different in ten years’ time, as the arrival of the Skypark Business Centre and the forthcoming tram service are the first indicators.
The Moxy Hotel will be present and will not hesitate to diversify its offer to satisfy all users (whether through its primary role as a hotel or through the organisation of receptions or events, for example).
Our role is to continue to develop our range of services, to help make this area attractive to everyone, and to support the airport and airlines as they evolve.
In terms of the passenger experience, what innovations or services are a priority to improve comfort, efficiency and overall user satisfaction?
The presence of the Moxy is already a great step forward in terms of the services available to passengers. Its location, just a few minutes’ walk from the terminal, means that early departures and late returns can be enjoyed without any stress, while benefiting from premium service and a 24/7 reception.
Its lobby, with an exclusive view of the runway, invites passengers to enjoy a drink or a snack while watching the planes take off, even if they are not hotel guests.
The collaboration with the airlines also represents a plus for passengers in terms of comfort and efficiency, in the event of a cancelled flight for example.
Sustainability has become a key issue for the aviation sector. What concrete initiatives are being put in place to reduce the environmental impact of airport operations?
The Skypark Business Centre, in which the Moxy Hotel is located, is in itself a worthy representative of sustainability in its design. It offers tenants technological innovations, such as automated lighting and rational management of resources (water, electricity and waste management, for example).
Even if we can’t really talk about “airport operations” in this case, sustainability is one of the pillars of the Marriott Group. We need to be committed to reducing our impact on the environment. We are currently working on a number of different issues: optimising the supply chain, reducing waste, banning single-use plastics and using environmentally-friendly cleaning products.
